Dragon's Dome Win ISA Indoor Cash

Eleven Teams Participate At Dragon's Dome In Pekin On 2/19 & 20

PEKIN: Dragon's Dome from Pekin went a perfect 4-0 to capture to title at the eleven team ISA Men's cash indoor tournament held at the Dragon's Dome in Pekin on February 19th & 20th. The champions pocketed six hundred dollars, a team plaque, and a set of t-shirts for winning the championship. Tournament runner-up Players Lounge (5-2) from Canton finished in second place and they took home four hundred dollars and a team plaque. Third place went to Nudo (2-2) from Springfield and they received two hundred dollars with St Louis (2-2) finishing in fourth place.
Dragon's Dome opened play on Saturday morning with a first round game against Crossroads from Springfield and came away with a one sided 23-3 win to advance into the second round of tournament action.
Game number two was also win number two for the Dragon's Dome ball club as they met and defeated the ball club from St. Louis 25-25 on Saturday afternoon moving them into the semifinals of the winner's bracket.
On Saturday night the Dragon's Dome squad squared off with Players Lounge in s defensive ball game and came away with a 7-3 win moving them into Sunday's winner's bracket championship game.
Now with only two unbeaten teams left in this tournament the Dragon's Dome ball club took the field against unbeaten Nudo on Sunday morning and posted an exciting 19-16 win over them to become the only unbeaten team left in this tournament.
Now the Dragon's Dome ball club had to sit and wait as the loser's bracket was played out to it's conclusion before they would know which team would be challenging them in the title game. When the last out was recorded in the loser's bracket, Players Lounge was the team still alive earning them the right to play Dragon's Dome in the title game.
The championship game was not like to first encounter between these two teams as both teams scored run after run in a high scoring game. When the final out was recorded the scoreboard read 23-18 in favor of Dragon's Dome over Player Lounge as the home standing ball club complete their undefeated run through the field of teams to win the title and the six hundred dollars a cash prize that goes with that title.
Dragon's Dome did not provide Illinois Softball Report with any details, highlights or stats on how they were able to accomplish winning this tournament.
Players Lounge made it to the championship game by opening play with a 14-4 win over Sauder Sports from Roanoke in the first round of tournament play on Saturday morning.
On Saturday afternoon they met and defeated the Bombers from Mackinaw in a close game 13-11 to advance into a Saturday nights semi final game on the winner's bracket.
On Saturday night Player's Lounge tasted defeat as they were upended by the eventual champions Dragon's Dome in a tightly played game 7-3.
This loss dropped them into A Sunday morning loser's bracket game where they squared off Sauder Sports for the second time in this tournament and came away with another win over the Roanoke ball club winning 23-2. Next up was a noon ball game against the St Louis entry and Players Lounge proved to be ready for this high scoring contest as they outscored their Missouri opponent 16-18 to advance into the loser's bracket championship game.
Players Lounge and Nudo went head to head with the winner earning the right to challenge unbeaten Dragon's Dome in the championship contest. Players Lounge continued to score impressive amounts of runs as they sent Nudo's home with the third place cash after defeating them 19-7.
The championship game was a shootout as both teams had their offences in high gear but the unbeaten Dragon's Dome was able to out score Players Lounge 23-18 to send the Canton ball club home with second place money and the second place plaque.
Players Lounge did not supply Illinois Softball Report with any team information, stats, highlights or quotes on how they were able to accomplish their second place finish in this tournament.
