Lakota Tribe Wins ISA Class D National Berth

Five Teams Particiapate at Route 130 Sports Complex In Urbana

URBANA: Lakota Tribe Softball (5-1) came charging out of the loser's bracket to double dip Gimme Dat Softball/R-Bar (2-2) 16-5 and 18-16 to win the ISA Men's Class D World Tournament qualifier played at Route 130 Sports Complex in Urbana on May 7th. Five teams participated in this tournament as Kelly Glass (2-2) took home third place.
Lakota opened play with a 24-14 loss to Gimme Dat Softball/R Bar sending them to the loser's bracket where they one by eliminated every other team that had entered this tournament starting with Team Complete by a final score of 23-13. Next to exit this tournament at the hands of Lakota Tribe Softball was Players Lounge who fell to Lakota Tribe Softball club by a final score of 22-3.
This win pushed Lakota Tribe Softball into the loser's bracket championship game where they met Kelly Glass in a game that the winner would earn the right to challenge unbeaten Gimme Dat Softball/R-Bar in the title game. Kelly Glass was clinging to a narrow one run lead 13-12 in the seventh inning when they did not agree with an umpire's call leading to several ejects and ultimately ending the game when they did not have enough players to continue playing the game.
Now only Gimme Dat/R-Bar softball club stood between the Lakota Tribe ball club and the ISA Men's Class D world tournament berth. The Lakota Tribe went right to work posting an impressive 15-5 win up onto the bracket board forcing the need to play the 'if necessary game' in order to determine which of these two team would win this tournament and the world berth that goes to the champion. In a much closer game the rubber match between these two ball club on this day it was Lakota Tribe Softball winning over Gimme Dat/R-Bar 19-16 to claim the title.

Gimme Dat/R-Bar made it to the championship game by opening play with a huge 24-14 win over Lakota Tribe Softball. Next up Gimme Dat/R-Bar stopped Kelly Glass in a wild high scoring game by the slimmest of margins one run winning 27-26. This win put Gimme Dat/R-Bar
Into the championship game against whoever would emerge from the loser's bracket to challenge them for the title. That team turned out to be Lakota Tribe Softball who not only challenged Gimme Dat/R-Bar but defeated them twice 15-5 & 19-16 to send Gimme Dat/R-Bar home with second place from this tournament.
Gimme Dat/R-Bar did not supply Illinois Softball Report with any team information, stats, highlights or quotes on how they were able to finish in second place at this tournament.
